چکیده

A study was conducted to compare in-vitro antimicrobial sensitivity patterns of the vaccine strain and field isolates of Pasteurella multocida. Three strains of P. multocida isolated from cattle and buffalo, were confirmed by biochemical tests and P. multocida specific Multiplex HSB-PCR. All the three field isolates belonged to P. multocida type B: 2 with amplified products of 460bp and 590 bp. The vaccine strain and isolates were tested against 17 different antibiotics by disc diffusion. Absolute resistance was observed among the field isolates to several antibiotics. The vaccine strain was resistant to amoxicillin, ofloxacin, sulfadiazine, streptomycin and cefuroxime. Isolate PB1 was resistant to sulfadiazine, streptomycin, cefoperazone, cephotaxime and oxytetracycline; PB2 was resistant to amoxicillin, ampicillin, sparfloxacin, ofloxacin, sulfadiazine, cefuroxime, cephotaxime, oxytetracycline and ciprofloxacin; PC1 was resistant to enrofloxacin, cefuroxime, cefperazone and cephotaxime. The most effective antibiotics against the vaccine and field strains were pefloxacin, ofloaxcin, trimethoprim and sparfloxacin. The study has revealed the emergence of multidrug resistant field strains of P. multocida.

Prevalence of adhesion Virulence factor genes, antibiogram, and pathogenicity of avian Pasteurella multocida isolate from Iran

Pasteurella multocida possesses various virulence factors, including capsule, lipopolysaccharide, fimbriae, toxins, outer membrane proteins, and adhesions. Adhesins have a crucial role in mediating colonization and invasion of the host. The aim of the present study was to identify the prevalence of adhesion factor genes and resistance/sensitivity patterns among the avian P. multocida isolates f...

Molecular identification and capsular typing of Pasteurella multocida isolates from sheep pneumonia in Iran

Pasteurella multocida is known as one of the main organisms causing pneumonia in sheep. As immunity in pasteurellosis is serogroup specific, identification of prevalent capsular group among endemic areas is essential. The aim of this study was to molecular identification and determine of the capsular type of the P. multocida strains isolated from sheep pneumonia in Iran. Bacteriological and bio...

Molecular characterization of Mycoplasma synoviae isolates from commercial chickens in Iran

Detection of Mycoplasma synoviae (MS) by culture and polymerase chain reaction (PCR) has been reported from commercial chicken farms in different provinces of Iran. In some reports the phylogenetic analysis of MS isolates based on 16S rRNA and variable lipoprotein hemagglutinin (vlhA) genes have been carried out. The PCR product containing partial 16S rRNA genes of Iranain isolates was sequence...
